About

Jodi Rios is an activist-scholar and designer whose work is located at the intersection of physical, social, and political space. Her research studies relationships between racialization and dehumanization, and the ways by which differentiated rights and degrees of citizenship are produced and policed in and through space. Jodi's work draws from multiple disciplinary perspectives, including anthropology, law, geography, and design, and is grounded in queer and Black studies. She holds an interdisciplinary PhD in Visual and Narrative Culture from UC Berkeley and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University.
